BIG SAM'S FUNKY NATION Presiding over his Funky Nation is Big Sam, a big man with an impeccable urban fashion sense, who blows the funk out of his trombone and refuses to let the audience sit still. Between solos and trombone riffs, Big Sam second-lines (a uniquely New Orleans style of street-dance) and gets the crowd going both in movement and in replies to his call-and-response MC-style. |

MIA BORDERS Formed in early 2006, Mia Borders and her Funk-Rock & Soul band quickly took the New Orleans music scene by storm with their high energy live shows. Since the formation in April of 2006, Mia Borders has gathered a strong following and, as a result, got awarded “New Orleans’ hottest buzz band” by Where Y’at Magazine. The success continued, when the group’s 2007 six-song studio effort, “the ep” was released independently and garnered plenty of positive buzz, and in 2008 the band was named one of “97 Quirky New Orleans Discoveries” by New Orleans Magazine. Mia Borders has proven herself to be a hot up-and-comer who is sure to make a splash on the scene!

THE STOOGES BRASS BAND
The Stooges Brass Band has been a premier New Orleans Brass Band since 1996. While appealing to the emotions of traditional jazz, the brass band uses their hip-hop influence to create a new sound. Their innovative incorporation of hip-hop sound to the traditional styling of New Orleans brass band music has set them apart from other New Orleans bands and allowed The Stooges to develop an extraordinary performance history, including performances with Jessica Simpson and Jadakiss.
