MIA BORDERS Formed in early 2006, Mia Borders and her Funk-Rock & Soul band quickly took the New Orleans music scene by storm with their high energy live shows. Since the formation in April of 2006, Mia Borders has gathered a strong following and, as a result, got awarded “New Orleans’ hottest buzz band” by Where Y’at Magazine. The success continued, when the group’s 2007 six-song studio effort, “the ep” was released independently and garnered plenty of positive buzz, and in 2008 the band was named one of “97 Quirky New Orleans Discoveries” by New Orleans Magazine.
